Dustin Lee Swisher (Dusty), age 22,of Springfield, MO, passed away May 6, 2010. He was a loving son, uncle, brother, nephew and cousin. Even though handicapped in body, never in mind. He overcame what most people thought was not possible. He touched many hearts. He could make anyone laugh, all you had to do is be in the same room as him. Dustin was preceded in death by his grandfather, Steven Swisher; cousin, William Chance Swisher; great grandmothers, Mary Swisher and Mary Blocker; great grandfather, Arthur Blocker and great aunt, Jean Lowe. He is survived by his grandmother, Debbie Swisher, Springfield, MO; mother, Tracy Powers, Springfield; brothers, Corey Swisher and wife Ashley, Zach Powers and Harley Davis, Springfield; sisters Crystal Swisher and Amber Powers, Springfield; aunt, Lottie Forrest; uncle, Chris Forrest, Springfield; aunt Stephanie Pickens; uncle, Jerry Pickens, Springfield; uncle Steve Swisher; aunt, Kerri Swisher, Rock Island, IL; aunt, Missy Hodgson; uncle Troy Hodgson, Grinnell, IA; cousins, Curtis, Austin and Dakota Forrest, Nicole, Taylor, Brook and Steven Pickens, Noelle, Cody and Camden Swisher and Leesa Hodgson; nephew, Jeremiah and many great aunts and uncles. He will be greatly loved and never forgotten. Funeral services will be held at Noon, Friday, May 21, 2010 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 to Noon, Friday in the funeral home.
