Duane Hesterly, 83, of Springfield, passed away on Feb. 5, 2016. He was born on Aug. 24, 1932 in Ava, MO, the son of Paul and Velma Hesterly.

Duane was a Koren War Navy Veteran and the former owner of The American Meat Company in Springfield.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannette, of 56 years, son, Doug Hesterly, daughter, Dana Harris and son-in-law Stuart, and grandson Colin Harris, and brothers Herbert and Larry Hesterly,

A visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 8, from 6-8 pm at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. A private family service will be held in Hazelwood Cemetery.
