IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Drew David
Andrew Holden
February 28, 1976 – September 29, 2021
David Andrew "Drew" Holden passed from this life peacefully in his sleep on September 29 th , 2021.
Drew was born on February 28, 1976 in Springfield MO to Dwayne Holden & Dianne Holden Senter. He attended Greenwood Laboratory School from Kindergarten through graduation. Drew loved playing football for Greenwood and made many lifelong friends there. He attended Drury University, where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity and received a degree in Business Administration. He was a member of the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge #409, a 32 nd Degree Scottish Rite Freemason and was a lifelong supporter of Ducks Unlimited. Drew worked at Custom Metalcraft, the family business that his mother and father co-founded with Jerry & Jamie Cowan. He was a co-owner of the company, and also served as the General Manager of the Process Division.
Like his father Dwayne, Drew was a visionary, always looking for the next big idea. He was a dreamer, a ball of energy, and always had a smile on his face. His positivity was contagious and he immediately put you at ease and could always make you laugh.
Drew was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to deer and turkey hunt at the Ongo family farm, where he and close friends spent many, many weekends exploring and riding ATV's. He also loved to duck hunt and shared a lease in LRDC with lots of friends. Drew loved shooting sports and militaria. He spent years learning about them and was extremely knowledgeable.
Drew loved the Florida Keys, where he spent many years with friends and family in the family home. It was his happiest place to be. He loved to salt water fish, spearfish and scuba dive. Drew was a truly great fisherman and if was often said he was The Fish Whisperer.
One of the happiest days of Drew's life was when his son Alex was born. He and Alex loved taking weekly trips to Bass Pro and he loved watching his son play sports.
Drew met Heather Scheets Chowning and they were united in marriage in January, 2017 in the Florida Keys. One of their favorite things to do was take their camper on family trips with Alex visiting many beautiful places.
He leaves behind his wife Heather, son Alex, mother Dianne Holden Senter, sister Nikki Holden, her husband Joe Lutomske and their children Zoe & Gia. He is preceded in death by his father Dwayne Holden and his step-father Jim Senter.
Family and friends were very important to Drew and he was fiercely loyal. Drew never knew a stranger and he was one of the most generous people you could know. He was thoughtful and caring. Besides his own family, he leaves behind countless friends who we count as family. He will never be replaced.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Hickory Hills Country Club on Sunday, October 17th, 2021 from 4pm-7pm. A short service will take place at 5pm, after which we invite friends to share a story or give a toast. We invite all who knew him to join us in paying him the tribute he deserves.
