Doug Wilson of Ozark, MO passed away on Saturday August 21, 2021, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born July 5, 1954, in Granite City, IL to Walter and Jeanette Wilson. He has three surviving brothers: Mike, Kevin, and Brian Wilson. Born into a sports-loving family Doug excelled as an athlete becoming a high school All-American Wrestler and two-time All-State Wrestling Champion. Doug also wrestled for Illinois State University. Later, Doug used his competitive edge and entrepreneurial drive to start a local business and ran his company, Custom Interiors, for 30+ years until his recent retirement.

A well-loved man, Doug maintained many friendships, old and new, across short and long-distances. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed time spent on the lake with family and friends. Doug was a devoted family man and fun-loving grandpa who enjoyed attending his grandchildrens' school and sports activities. Doug was fortunate to share his passions in life with his best friend and wife, Becky Wilson, to whom he was devoted.

Doug is preceded in death by his father, Walter Wilson. He is survived by his mother, Jeanette Wilson; his wife Becky Wilson, his son Brik Wilson and daughter-in-law Gabrielle Wilson; his son Michael Wilson and daughter-in-law Amanda Wilson; his daughter Torrey Ward and son-in-law Joshua Ward; and his five grandchildren Olive, Thatcher, Ava, Nora, and Finley.

Doug will be missed beyond measure. His presence meant love and strength and his loss will be felt by those who loved him.

A visitation celebrating Doug's life will be Wednesday, August 25, 2021, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home.
