Mrs. Dorothy Lyons, 82 of Springfield, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2009 in St. John's Hospital. She was born May 19, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York to Walter and Frances Cooper. She was married to William P. Lyons, Sr. for 54 years. Dorothy never met a stranger. She loved animals, but not as much as she loved chocolate. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, William P. Lyons, Jr. Dorothy is survived by her children, Dorothy Strick of Springfield, Jill Sirotnak of Oklahoma City, OK, Glenn Lyons and Brad Lyons both of Springfield; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at 2:00 PM in Hazelwood Cemetery with the Reverend Michael Blacksher officiating under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel.
