Jean was a member of the Springfield Chapter of PEO, the Opera Guild, and the Theatre League.   Music was an important part of her life, and she was in the church chancel and handbell choirs. Through the years Jean was an avid bridge player and enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, and working in her garden.

She was preceded in death by Richard I. Langston, her husband of 62 years.

Jean is survived by son Jim and wife Phyllis; daughter Becky Fetters and husband Jim; son Richard S. and wife Mimi; grandchildren, Kristy Valett and husband Andrew; Kara and Stephanie Langston; Adam Fetters; and Joel and Trevor Langston.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3 at First and Calvary Presbyterian Church under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will precede the service at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in Hazelwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
