Dorothy Lee Copeland passed away on the morning of February 25, 2014 at the age of 82 in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by family at The Maples nursing care facility. She was born November 3, 1931 to Joner and Thelma Wright. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Bill; daughter, Patricia Phillips (husband David); grandchildren, Carrie Harmon, Benjamin and Samuel Phillips; great-grandson, Tyler Harmon; sister, Pat Chenhall (husband Raymond); two nephews and a niece. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judith Palmer and sister, Doris Smith (husband Robert). Visitation will be February 28, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Gorman- Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole, Springfield, MO 65804. Funeral service will be March 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Private family burial will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Compassus, 1465 E. Primrose, Springfield, MO 65804. Dorothy is the love of Bill's life and will be greatly missed.
