Doris Mae (Rable) Steffen, age 87, previously of Springfield, died Saturday June, 28, 2014 in Autumn Oaks Care Center in Mountain Grove, Missouri. Doris was born on December 11, 1926 and raised in the little town of Lebanon, Illinois. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mildred Rutledge; son, Randy; brothers, Wesley, Paul and Danny. Doris was married to Edward Rable for 38 years and to Alan Steffen for 23 years. Both husbands preceded her in death. Doris loved the Lord, and gave her heart to Jesus in Lebanon, Illinois at an early age. She is survived by two children, Judy and husband, Joe of Mountain Grove, MO and Steve Rable of Red Bud, IL; three grandchildren, Tim Eisenhour and wife, Christina, David Eisenhour and wife Lynn and Amy Bauer and husband, John; eight great-grandchildren, Ellen, Jon, Erin, Andrew, Kinsey, Paul, Max and Luke; sisters, Jane Odum, Carol Seymour, Donna Smith and husband, Ray; and friends who loved her dearly. A short memorial service will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 9:45 a.m. Burial will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
