Doris L. Teel Ortner, 51 of Springfield, departed her earthly life July 27, 2012. Doris was born in Landstuhl, Germany to Gene Wesley and Roswitha Barth Teel on February 14, 1961. Doris spent the last 18 years in Springfield where she was employed as a nurse with the Greene County Jail and Visiting Nurses Association. She also owned a Bail Bonding Company and was recently working at Ozark Treasures Antique and Flea Market where she operated an antique booth. Doris loved to browse and shop flea markets and antique stores. She enjoyed being outdoors, hiking and taking long walks with her pet terrier, Gretchen. Doris is survived by her father, Gene Teel of Leesburg, Florida; her mother, Roswitha Hartline of Joplin, MO; sister, Janet Easley and husband, Clarence, a niece Ericka and nephew Taylor of Pleasanton, KS; two brothers, John Teel of Republic, MO and Landon Hartline and his wife, Kelli of Marshall, MO and nieces Jessie, Kasey and Riley Hartline. Memorial services will be Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with burial to follow in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens. Doris was a caring individual who cared about people and made a difference in many people's lives. In lieu of flowers the family requests prayers and pleasant thoughts.
