Doris Nachman, 92, passed away in Springfield, Mo., on Jan. 3, 2023. Born Aug. 29, 1930, in Omaha, Neb., she attended Omaha University and then joined the staff at Strategic Air Command Headquarters, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., during the Cold War. She moved to New York, N.Y., where she worked for consulting engineers Slocum and Fuller, then returned to Nebraska, and became a real estate agent in Omaha. She volunteered at public libraries, soup kitchens, and women's shelters. Doris will be remembered as an empathetic person, a loyal friend and confidante. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elias Nachman, her parents, Samuel and Mary (Reiman) Weinberg, an infant sister, Gitel, and her brother Joseph. She is survived by her brother Sol and her two children, Julie and James. Funeral services were held on Jan. 6. Donations in memory of Doris may be made to Temple Israel Foundation, P.O.
