Doris M. Meekins passed away December 16, 2017 at James River Nursing and Rehab.  Doris was born May 18, 1926 near Gonvick, MN to John J. and Amelia (Jurgens) Pekarek.

She was married to William A. Meekins on June 22, 1946.  Together they owned and operated the Lampost Gift Shop in Brentwood Center for 22 ½ years.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings, Ronald and Larry and an infant brother.  She is survived by brothers Emmett Pekarek, Herman Pekarek and John Pekarek; sisters, Bernice Stone and Lavanna Nash.

Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with Father Charles "Chaz" Dunn celebrant.  Burial will follow at Marshfield Cemetery.  Rosary will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. with visitation following at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
