Doris Marie Gaddy was born November 9, 1931 in Monett, MO. She passed away July 1, 2021 at James River Nursing Home after a short illness.

Doris grew up in Monett where she met and married the love of her life, Robert Gaddy in 1946. To this union, three children were born. They moved to Springfield in 1964. They shared 65 years of marriage before Bob passed away in 2011.

Doris was a homemaker. She enjoyed ceramics, quilting and embroidery. She enjoyed her flower gardens and sharing those flowers with family and friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Springfield. In her younger years, she enjoyed volunteering in the church nursery and at Vacation Bible School.

Doris is survived by her son and daughter-in law, Larry and Marianne Gaddy of Pleasant Hope, MO; son, Bob Gaddy of Topeka, KS; granddaughters Angela Russell, Kimberly Deel, Julie Gaddy and Chambrlyn Gaddy; great-grandson, Riley Deel and great-granddaughter Hallie Huske.

In addition to her husband, Doris was preceded in death by her infant daughter Julia, her parents and 2 sisters.

Informal Visitation will be at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home from 2:00 – 6:00 PM on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. Graveside Service will be held at the IOOF Cemetery in Monett, MO at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 8.
