IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donovan
Wheeler
November 21, 1970 – September 18, 2025
Donovan Kei Wheeler, 54, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away surrounded by loved ones on September 18, 2025. Born on November 21,1970 in Springfield to Trish Blythe and Don R. Wheeler, Donovan was known for his vibrant personality, sense of humor, and booming voice. He used that voice to lift others up and make people laugh at every opportunity.
Following his graduation from Parkview High School in 1989, Donovan attended Southwest Missouri State University. He earned his degree in Advertising and Marketing in 1994 and though he put his education to use in other ventures, his devotion to the family business remained a constant throughout his life. Donovan began helping out at House of Flowers as a small child and continued throughout much of his adult life. His devotion to the business was unmatched. Donovan was a perfectionist in his professional life and making customers happy was important to him. He knew that the small details mattered and through flowers, he helped countless people express their love or gratitude, celebrate special occasions, grieve losses, or just add some beauty to their everyday lives.
Donovan was a beloved son, husband, father, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, "Dobby" to his granddaughter, and friend to many. Family and friends were everything to Donovan and he was always available to lend a helping hand.
Donovan is survived by wife Kristi of Springfield, parents Trish and Larry Blythe and Don and Kathi Wheeler, all of Springfield, children Cameron and Olivia Wheeler and their mother Melissa, brother Kris Wheeler and his family, wife Clare and nephews Hudson and Cade, sister Shannon Sosabee, stepdaughters Tiffany (Brett) Gladden and Emily (Avery) Quick, granddaughter River Gladden, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless other family members and friends.
We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Their kindness and care helped to bring some peace and comfort to him and his family during his third battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be held in Donovan's honor on Saturday, September 27 at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home at 3 p.m.
