March 6, 1952 - July 25, 2012 Donnie Joe Kennemer, 60, of Springfield passed away on Wednesday July 25, 2012, after a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. Donnie was born March 6, 1952 in Springfield, the son of Glenn W. and Bonnie M. Kennemer. Donnie graduated from Seymour High School in 1969 and moved to California until 1973. Upon his return to Springfield, he began working in the construction industry, attending night classes at Missouri State University. He founded Kenco Construction in 1990. Donnie was an entrepreneur in the truest sense and worked in sales and relationship marketing throughout his career. During his free time, Donnie was involved in various clubs and Elks activities. He loved hunting with his friends and son Jason. He especially enjoyed spending time with his companion, Janette, whether dancing or singing karaoke. Donnie had looked forward to passing along his love of the outdoors to his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his charming personality, wit, assertiveness, and positive attitude. Survivors: son, Jason Robert and wife Cara of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Austin and Clare; mother Bonnie, sister Glynette, both of Kingman, Kansas; nieces Stephanie Masella and Amanda Naillieux and their families; companion Janette Anthony, and his loyal dog Wendy. He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Willis Kennemer. A visitation and prayer service will be held from 2-4 pm on Sunday, July 29, 2012 and the funeral service will be held at 9:30 am on Monday, July 30, 2012, both at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield.
