Donnegun "Donnie" Ulysses Bailey, 69, of Springfield MO, began his new life journey on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in the comfort of his home.  He was born January 14, 1948 in Springfield MO, to Charles L. Bailey Jr and Helen C. Bailey-Woods.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Herschel and Jimmy Bailey and companion Norma Tucker.

Donnie worked at Horton/Waldorf Box Company for many years, including obtaining an Associate's degree in automotive and engine repair in Kansas City MO. Donnie loved the Lord, his family and friends.  His positive, robust and giving spirit was always displayed at family dinners and get-togethers.  His favorite past time was playing his numbers, watching his "soapies", Price is Right and The Walking Dead.

Donnie is survived by a son, Donnegan L. Bailey, (Phoenix, AZ); daughter, Latisha Ann Bailey, (Robert House) (Independence, MO) siblings, Charlotte Seeby, (Derby, KS) Reginald Bailey, John Bailey, Youlanda Herron (Tony), Bruce Bailey, Victoria Kerr (Greg) and Charles Bailey, III (Lisa); his personal barber and best friend Elwin Adams; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.

Although Donnie will be deeply missed, we thank God for his new life's journey.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday, October 20, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel.  Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery.
