Donna Lee Anderson, 72, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at home. She was born on January 26, 1943 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Harry and Nellie Anderson. Donna graduated from Northeast High School. She later graduated from UMKC with a teaching degree. She began a career in teaching in the Kansas City School District until deciding to become a full time mom for her three children. She loved to paint and garden. She also loved to travel and spend time at the lake boating and swimming. She enjoyed being active, especially swimming, with a group of close friends that called themselves "The Mermaids." She loved her children and all three of her grandchildren dearly, attending many school, sporting, tumbling, and dancing events. Those who knew Donna will always remember her loyalty, persistence, and protective nature. Donna is survived by her loving husband and best friend, James E. Street; two sons and their wives, Shawn and Andrea Street, and Tyler and Brooke Street; daughter, Shannon Street; and three grandchildren, Ian, Gwenna, and Finley. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Ruth Bulich and her husband Tom and their son Zach. She was also close to a special niece Candace Barnes. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 under the care of Gorman-Scharpf University Chapel. Private burial will be held at White Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Springfield or the charity of your choice.
