Donald Wayne Scott, age 82, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024. He was born to Loyd and Audie (Ailshie) Scott on April 27, 1942. He grew up in Browns Spring, Missouri and graduated from Hurley High School where he played on the basketball team.

Following graduation, he was hired by Mid America Dairy (now Dairy Farmers of America) where he worked for forty years. After retiring from Dairy Farmers of America, he worked at Don Wessel Honda for several years where he enjoyed meeting and greeting people as Wessel's courtesy driver.

In 1977 Don was united in marriage to Linda Morton, his devoted wife of forty-seven years. Don and Linda traveled to many unique locales where they enjoyed exploring new places and sharing many adventures.

Don was a member of South Gate Baptist Church where he cherished the fellowship of his Christian brothers and sisters. Don also loved being outdoors, working in his yard and taking long walks with wife Linda in many of the area parks and on nearby trails.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ronald Scott and nephew Jim Scott. He is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Shelly Adams (Paul), grandson Brandon Adams, granddaughter Taylor Martinez (Daniel), three great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Debbie Neal and her husband Dan, nephews Michael Scott and Brian Neal (Sara), niece Lorisa Scott, and several great-nieces and nephews and many treasured friends. Don was known for his kind and gentle spirit and will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with the Reverend Nolan Carrier officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Wednesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
