Donald Edward Piatt, 49, Springfield passed away suddenly on November 5, 2024 in Springfield, Missouri. Don was born on a foggy Monday morning, June 30, 1975 in Springfield, MO. He enjoyed playing football at Central High School and graduated in 1993. He worked at SRC ReMan, remanufacturing diesel engines until his health no longer allowed. Don loved to deer hunt and always looked forward to deer season. Don had suffered intense pain for nearly twenty years dealing with several disabilities including MS, diabetes and bipolar disorder.

Don grew up attending Calvary Temple AG with his grandma Bea, his mother and his sister. He was also active in the Royal Ranger program at church.  Don was baptized and joined Broadway Baptist Church on December 30, 2001. He continued to read, study his Bible and pray for those around him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Piatt; grandparents Ed and Beatrice Crabtree, Chester McDonald Piatt and Pearl Piatt; high school friend/brother-in-law Gary McCormack and many aunts and uncles.

Don is survived by his mother, Sherrye Kuhn and step-father J. Allen Kuhn; sister, Stephanie McCormack and her children Grant and Natalie; daughter, Elizabeth Jacobson; half siblings Jason and Katie Piatt and their mother Charlene, and extended family siblings – Allen's children Paula (Benny), Chris (Jodi) and Laura (Gary) and their children along with aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family wishes to thank his Mercy doctors, especially his Primary Care physician Dr. James Siler and also his neurology doctor, pain management physicians, the wonderful ladies at Mercy Infusion 4K and Phoenix Home Health PT and the nurses that visited him. A very special thank you to all the individuals and groups that have continuously prayed for Don over the span of his health issues.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2024 in Central Assembly of God, 1301 North Boonville Ave, Springfield, with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 p.m.  The service will be livestreamed at centralassembly.tv

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don's name to Council of Churches of the Ozarks Food Pantry.
