Donald G. McGuire, 83, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on April 5, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri. He was born on July 15, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri. Don, as he was known to his loved ones, was an active outdoors man who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was involved in many golf and fishing clubs and spending time with his family and friends. He had a terrific sense of humor and always aimed to bring laughter to those around him.
Don proudly served in the United States Navy. After his military service, he worked at DuPont in Sales across multiple divisions, where he excelled in engaging with people from all walks of life. Don attended Elementary and High School in Kansas City, where he participated in various sporting activities. He also pursued higher education in college.
He is survived by his Son, John McGuire, Daughter, Pamela Sullivan and her husband Paul, Granddaughters Mikayla and Grace, Grandson Paul, a brother Chester McGuire Jr. and many other family members. Don will be reunited with his Son, Todd McGuire, Father Chester G. McGuire Sr, his Mother Cordella Smith, and his Sister Wylene Eckart in Heaven.
Don worshipped at Immaculate Conception Church, where his faith was a cornerstone of his life. In his free time, he indulged in his passion for the outdoors, particularly fishing, hunting and golf. He was actively involved in numerous fishing and golf clubs, and cherished moments spent with loved ones.
A visitation will be held on Monday April 8, 2024 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, located at 1947 E. Seminole Street, Springfield, Missouri, 65804 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm with rosary and prayer service from 5:00 to 5:30. The funeral mass will be at 11:00am on April 9, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Church, 3555 S. Fremont Avenue Springfield, Missouri, 65804. Graveside Service will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 South Southwood, Springfield, Missouri, 65804. Don's legacy of love for the outdoors, dedication to his family, and sense of humor will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
