Donald Gene Jones, 88 of Springfield passed away on June 23rd, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was the son of Loyd and Anna Jones.

He was preceded in death by his son William Jones of Springfield and his daughter-in-law, Patricia Jones.

He is survived by his loving wife, Billie Jeanne Jones; son, Douglas Jones; daughter Laura Jeanne Thompson; daughter-in-law, Darlene Jones; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and his cat, Missie.

Donald served in the United States Air Force in Korea from 1953 to 1957. After returning home he worked for the Springfield Fire Department, retiring as a Captain after 35 years. In his retirement he worked as a local delivery driver. He was married to Billie Jeanne McDaniel on January 9th, 1959. They spent 65 loving and devoted years together. Donald had a passion for collecting model cars and enjoyed spending his time fishing at the lake.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 27, also in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pembina Cemetery, Rogersville, MO.
