Obituary

Donald "Donnie" Jacobs, a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and brother passed away peacefully at the age of 68 on May 27, 2025. Born on February 27, 1957, to Donald L. Jacobs and Norma Jean (Owens) Jacobs. Don was an entrepreneur and held many patents for his Aluma-Tow. He was the beloved husband of Cynthia Jacobs, whom he cherished as the love of his life.

Don was born and raised in Beloit, WI where he graduated from Beloit Memorial High School and attended classes at UW Madison.  He went on to marry Barb (Saari) Winokur and welcomed their two children, Erin (Eric) Nova and Erick Jacobs.

While growing up in Beloit, Don was a track/field star in high school, a medaled platform diver and swim team member along with performing airplane stunts at the local air show.  The one thing you didn't do – was dare Don to do something……because he would DO it!!  He later found a love for Sky Diving where he met many lifelong friends.  Don was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and attended several games in Green Bay with friends.  He was also a talented guitar player, he enjoyed playing and writing songs.

In 2002 Don moved to Springfield, MO and formed Uriah Products in 2004 where he eventually developed and patented The Aluma-Tow along with accessories.  He was extremely proud of the Company and brand he developed.  He was fortunate to meet the love of his life, Cynthia, at the Drop Zone at a Sky Diving event.  Don and Cynthia married on June 2, 2005.  Cynthia was a devoted partner and caregiver to Don who his family is forever grateful for.

Don's love for his grandchildren was larger than life.  Making them laugh with silly songs and jokes was his greatest pleasure.  They lovingly referred to him as their Pampa and he proudly wore that title.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Jacobs, children Erick Jacobs and Erin (Eric) Nova, stepchildren Ryan (Sabrina) Walker, Mathew (Flor) Vattes.  Grandchildren Gavin McGill, Natalie Freson, Brooklyn Nova, Leightyn Nova, and Daltyn Nova.  Siblings Gary (Sherry) Jacobs, Lori (Todd) Stocks and several nieces and nephews and their families. Lifelong friends, Tom and Kim Finley, Curt and Tina Hansen, Jeff and Julie Stephensen, Jackie (Jeff Miller) Rice, Ron Fraker Jr.  along with many, many more.  If you had the honor of knowing Don, you had a friend for life.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, sister Debbie Jacobs, brother Bill Jacobs, nephew Tad Cherry.

There will be a memorial service held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home June 28th, 2025.  Visitation from 10:00-11:00 am with an informal service following.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Beloit, WI on July, 20th 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm at the Star Zenith Boat Club on Riverside Dr.  Please come and share your memories and celebrate Don's life with his family and friends.

The family would like to thank Mercy Oncology, Springfield, MO and MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX.  In leu of flowers, memorials may be given to local Cancer Centers in Don's name.

And it's whispered that soon, if we all call the tune…then the piper will lead us to reason.

And a new day will dawn, for those who stand long, and the forests will echo with laughter.

And did you know….your stairway lies on the whispering wind, on the Stairway to heaven.
