Donald Arthur Jabusch passed away July 20, 2022 at the age of 93. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Mary Margaret (Griesemer) Jabusch and his four children, Lisa M. Jabusch, John D. Jabusch, Ann M. (Jabusch) Ackerson, and Catherine L. Jabusch and many other family members. He was predeceased by his three siblings, Paul, Harry, Nancy (Jabusch) Nissan and his parents, John and Vivian. He has ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Don was born in southern Washington state on November 9, 1928. He worked on the family farm until he left to attend the University of Washington to earn a degree in mechanical engineering. He joined the Air Force in 1949 and became a fighter pilot, flying a tour of duty in Korea - earning a Purple Heart. Don also served in Vietnam. He served in the Air Force for 20 years before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1969 and moving with Mary closer to her family in Springfield, Missouri. There he managed the warehouse business for Springfield Underground (now part of Erlen Group). Don and Mary joined Immaculate Conception parish, where Don was a stalwart supporter of the parish and schools. Though not Catholic, he attended church with his family every Sunday. He had a dry sense of humor and enjoyed investing in the stock market. He loved traveling with Mary to destinations near and far for pleasure, warehousing conventions, and Air Force fighter pilot reunions. Don started playing tennis in his mid-40s and loved the game and the camaraderie so much that he continued playing into his mid-80s. Don was exceptionally proud of his 4 children, and their educational and professional accomplishments. But most dear, his wife Mary was always the light of his life. His recently declining health was difficult, but he constantly professed his love for his dear Mary.

Funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2022 with a prayer service beginning at 5:40 p.m. at the funeral Home.  Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2022 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please give to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
