Donald C. Findley passed away on December 10, 2012 in Springfield, MO. He was born July 27, 1936, the first child of Clyde V. and Freda (Reese) Findley in Mansfield, MO. He attended Mansfield schools and served in the US Army from 1959 to 1965. On October 20, 1962 he married the love of his life, Lena F. "Smokie" Moore and they celebrated 50 wonderful years together. Don retired from City Utilities in April 1997 after 34 years of service. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist church and Springfield Elks Lodge #409. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Smokie, and one son, Todd S. Findley; sister Doris Grevillius; brother Warren Findley and several nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday December 14, 2012 at 1:00pm in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will be in Eastlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 13 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the funeral home.
