Donald "Don" Coin, 73, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 24, 2011 after a 10 month battle with cancer. He was born January 19, 1938 in Jackson, Michigan, the son of the late Frank V. and Golda M. Coin. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Wanda; a son, Doug Coin and his wife, Lisa; two daughters, Kim Britten and her husband, Gary; and Kathy Mills and her husband, Marc; grandchildren , Rebecca (Darren), Benjamin (Sarah), Kristopher (Danielle), Nickolas, Andrea, Abigail, Victoria, Marie, and Andrew, as well as great-grandchildren, Natalie and Alexander. He was loved by his grandkids who always called him "Poppie". Don managed Polly's market in Jackson, Michigan when he was 18 years old, and eventually became the Regional Conagra sales manager for all of Western Michigan. After he retired at the age of 56, he and Wanda moved to Springfield, MO where he became a Realtor, then an entrepreneur opening a Pack-n-Mail store. Don was a faithful servant who drove a bus for church and was a Sunday School teacher. A friend to all, he and his wife enjoyed serving on the hospitality team at their church. Don loved to play, watch and talk about golf. Recently Don and Wanda became snow birds and spent their winters in Brooksville, FL. There will be a celebration of Don's life Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 11:00 am, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 922 West Republic Road, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00 am in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
