Dona Raelene Borghardt passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 in Springfield, MO. Dona was born September 10, 1946 to (Ralph) Raymond Reaves and Mary Catherine Reaves in Springfield, MO. The oldest of seven children, Dona graduated from St. Agnes High School in 1964 and attended Missouri State University.
Dona was united in marriage to John Neil Gammon and was blessed with three sons, Todd Neil, Bradley John, and Wade Matthew. On December 5 th , 1986 Dona married David Louis Borghardt who brought to the family two daughters, Kerry Raye (Borghardt) Jungmann and Darcey Ann Borghardt.
Dona loved crafting, painting, and finding treasures at antique shops and sales. She enjoyed spoiling her Chihuahuas (especially her two-pound Pete) and spending time with family and friends. Dona lived in many places; however, she spent most of her life in southwest Missouri and always thought of Springfield as her home.
Dona was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brother Michael Reaves, her sister Mary Kathlene Reaves, and her son Todd Gammon. She is survived by her husband, David Borghardt, her sisters, Diane (Steven) Shanholtzer, Denita (Ron) Dykes, Vickie (Mike) Pettiford, and Veronica (Paul) Welsh, her daughter-in-law Michelle Gammon, her son Brad (Cindy) Gammon, her son Wade Gammon, stepdaughter Kerry (John) Jungmann, her stepdaughter Darcey Borghardt, and her grandchildren Kyle, Kendall, Kaden, Kelson, Bailey John, Thomas, Halle, Macie, Jolie, and Luca as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 22 nd at 10:00 AM at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church on 2200 W. Republic Road Springfield, MO 65810 with funeral mass following at 11:00 AM and will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery directly after Mass. There will be a dinner after Burial at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church that everyone is welcome to attend.
