Don Harris, 78, of Republic, MO, peacefully passed away on May 16, 2022 surrounded by loved ones at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

Don was born on January 07, 1944 to Orvin and Mildred Harris in Harrison, Arkansas. Don attended Woodruff High School in Peoria and then enlisted in the Army. He served in Korea and received many medals for his bravery. He worked at and retired from Caterpillar in Mossville. Don was passionate about handywork and loved to create and build things with his own two hands. His creativity inspired his nickname "Handy Andy". Don also always had a strong love for Classic Cars. He bought, fixed up and sold over 400 cars in his life. His favorite pass time was attending car shows.

He married Mary, the love of his life in 1983 and together they had a lovely blended family. They cherished each of their children, Sheila (Brian), Michael (Robin), Dawn (Robert), Angelita and Krista (Ethan).

While retired, Don had time to pursue his love of woodworking, landscaping, playing cards, and spending time with his great grandchildren. He loved to take something broken and make it new again.

Don was predeceased by a sister, his Father, his Grandson, his Mother, his Daughter, and his great grandson. He is survived by his sister, his brother, four children, 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, with a Funeral Service following at 11:00 AM, at Life360 Chesterfield, 2220 W Chesterfield Blvd. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at 1:00 PM in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
