IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dolores Marie
Kutz
December 30, 1929 – September 24, 2022
Dolores Marie (Hulse) Kutz joined her heavenly family on September 24, 2022. She was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on December 30, 1929 to Minnie and Paul Hulse, while her mother was traveling to visit one of her sisters. She grew up on the family farm northeast of Springfield, graduated from St. Agnes High in 1947, then continued her education at St. John's School of Nursing. Upon graduation in 1950 she worked as a nurse at St. John's Hospital.
She met the love of her life, Frederick P. Kutz, at a skating party at Doling Park. They married on November 13, 1950 at St. Agnes Cathedral. While Fred was based in Fort Lee, Virginia, Dolores continued her nursing career in Colonial Heights, Virginia prior to his departure to the Korean War. Dolores was a loving wife, a mother to seven children as well as a partner with Fred for 32 years in their family business, Kutz Service Center.
Her Catholic faith was unwavering throughout her life. The rosary was her special prayer and even as her health declined, she found comfort in saying the rosary and watching Mass.
Dolores is preceded in death by her parents, Minnie (Lehar) Hulse and Paul Hulse, her sisters, Mary Margaret Hulse and Virginia (Hulse) Stockton. Dolores is survived by Fred, her husband of 72 years, her brothers Jim Hulse (Judy), Loren Hulse (Donna), her children Cindy Hamilton (Steve), Debbie Herndon (Jay), Pat Dierking (Gary), Sharon Bertalott (Tim), Rick Kutz (Sherry), Teresa Allen (Marty), Jim Kutz (Pam), 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous other family members.
Visitation will be held at St. Agnes Cathedral on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Dolores may be made to The Kitchen, Inc., 730 N. Glenstone, Springfield, MO 65802.
