Dolores Kennedy, age 86, of Springfield, MO passed away at 11:30 pm Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in Springfield. She was born November 11, 1927 in Milwaukee, WI to Arturo and Virginia Quiroz. Dolores was a 1945 graduate of Bayview High School, Milwaukee. She was united in marriage to John Kennedy June 6, 1947. John preceded her in death in 1999. She retired from the Boston Store in 1992. After retirement John and Dolores moved to Springfield to be close to family. She volunteered at the Nixa Senior Center and was part of the Meals on Wheels program. Dolores was a member of Parkcrest Baptist Church, Golden Agers SS Class. She was a Sunday school teacher and an AWANA leader for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arturo Horacio and Virginia Quiroz; son, Arthur Kennedy; husband, John Kennedy; four brothers; and one sister. Dolores is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Daniel Marquis; son, Robert Kennedy, all of Springfield, MO; grandchildren, Daniel (Jennifer) Marquis of TN, Annette Marquis (Aaron) Tillman of Springfield, MO, Heather Kennedy of WI, Robert W. Kennedy of FL, and Jordan (Paul) Martozie of WI; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jordan, Autumn, Lizzy, Emma, Payton, Kahlen and Izabella. Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm, Friday, September 26, 2014 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Parkcrest Baptist Church with the Reverend Phil Housely officiating.
