Obituary

Dolores Ann Griot died early morning on December 17, 2020 after filling 90 years with service and work and deep love for her family and church. She was born in Detroit, Michigan April 11, 1930. After graduating from Central High School in Springfield she attended SW Missouri State College. She married George Griot in August 1949 and they were happily together for 64 years. Dolores was an active member of South National Church of Christ and later Sunset Church of Christ. Dolores taught Bible classes, would be at every activity and never missed worship even when traveling. Her faith and Christian service is her legacy. Dolores ran the office for George's dental practice while being an active Den Mother for her little Cub Scouts. Later she became an entrepreneur running four gift shops with her sons. Always outgoing, she loved to entertain friends and family and was known for being an enthusiastic, generous hostess.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband George and her parents Ray and Ora Sullivan and daughter-in-law Ellise Griot. She is survived by her sons Mark, Lane and wife Cindy Griot and Neil and wife Julia Griot; grandchildren Lara Shotwell and husband Eric Shotwell, Corey and fiancé Felicia Steger and Cameron and wife Teri Griot; and great-grandchildren Zachary and Autumn Shotwell.
