Dolan L. Hackworth, 83, of Springfield, passed away at 1:59 pm on December 19, 2015 at home with his family at his side. He was born in Thayer, MO to Arnett and Jettie Hackworth. Dolan was raised in the Thayer area and graduated from Couch High School in 1950 and from Arkansas State University in 1959 with a degree in biology. He taught junior and senior high school in the St. Louis area for many years. He was a member of Rotary International and Campbell United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Juanita Hackworth; and brother, Lester Hackworth.

Dolan is survived by his wife, Nelda, of Springfield; son, Douglas, of Springfield; brothers Dean of Searcy, AR, and Duane of Lake St. Louis, MO; sisters Marietta Barton of Marthasville, MO, Anita Shaffer of Buffalo, MO, and Vernita Miller of Thayer, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 23, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO.
