Dixie M. Margritier 89, of Springfield, Missouri passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018. She was born on July 21, 1928 in Waverly, Iowa to Clarence and Hazel (Scoles) Cheever.

In 1947 Dixie married John W. Margritier in Waterloo, Iowa. She was an avid reader, never without a book in her hand. Loved doing crossword puzzles. She was very proud of working with the Foster Grandparents Program of Springfield, Missouri. Dixie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, John W. Margritier; son, James B. Margritier; two brothers, Garland and Elwood; four sisters, Clarice, Gene, Betty, and Marietta.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Klapmeyer and husband Ronald; Sue Broussard; Jo Donato and husband Ben; Donna Kamataris and husband Garry; Beckie Thompson and husband Kelly; daughter-in-law Marcie Margritier.

Her grandchildren, Kimmberly Margritier and Dan Reed; Ryan Klapmeyer; Renee Mandacina and husband Phil; Misty Kistner and Mark; Shallina Bowers Goodnight and husband Marty; Eric Kamataris; Cali Hanna and husband Issak; Caitlyn Small Ellis and husband Jessie.

Her great grandchildren, Zander and Zeke Reed; Gabriella and Isabella Mandacina; Kristin, Kristopher and Kayden Kistner; Shalla and Sophia Bowers; Charlie Small; Bodhi Ellis.

Her brother, John; two sisters Alice and Laurel; and a host of family and friends.

Dixie will be laid to rest next to her husband John at Clear Creek Cemetery Springfield, Missouri.
