Dillon Morrison, age 94, Springfield, MO passed away on December 8, 2022.
Dillon was born January 24, 1928 in Keltner, MO to the late Bill and Matle Morrison.
Dillon graduated from Chadwick High School in 1946. He served as part of the Navy from 1951-1955. He attended SMSU and graduated with a Bachelor degree in 1958. He earned his Masters from Drury in 1964 and completed his Specialist and Doctorate degree from Tulsa University in 1970 and 1972 respectively.
He worked as a teacher and an administrator in the Springfield school system for over 30 years. Dillon loved children and often went the extra mile to see that their needs were met. Dillon and his wife Carol invested in real estate and in retirement he worked for Patrick Murney as a real estate agent.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Springfield, MO. Dillon's greatest love was going to the country to take long drives with his family and taking care of his cows. He never met a stranger and was a joy to all that knew him.
Dillon married Carol Beckerdite September of 1974 and they had a beautiful life together. Dillon had an unconditional love for his family and is survived by his beloved wife Carol, his son Gary Morrison and his wife Brenda, daughter Belinda Baker, son David Beckerdite and his wife Sue; 8 grandchildren; Sonya Morrison, Bethany Jung, Holly Gray, Chris Morrison, Sarah Bright, Brandon Morrison, Amy Letterman, Karen Pestritto; 13 great grandchildren; brother George Morrison, sister Hib Huba Rozell. Dillon was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Matle Morrison, daughter Ginger Morrison, son Doug Beckerdite, brothers Paul Morrison, Max Morrison, sisters Luetta Harvill, Ortha Lawrence.
Funeral services for Dillon will be Tuesday, December 13th, at 10:30 AM, viewing from 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM at the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Oldfield, MO, with Rev. James Orick officiating and burial in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
