Diane Louise Scharpf passed away on March 31st, 2024, Easter Sunday.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Scharpf, her two boys Michael and Carl Scharpf, her brother Jim Bortnick, and an entire neighborhood's generation of grown children.

Loved by all who met her, Diane was a gentle force of loving kindness and earnest compassion. A nursing graduate of Pittsburg State University, she dedicated over four decades of her life to working in healthcare, helping those most in need. Outside of work, these skills were often used to mend the scrapes on the knees of the many children she helped raise, and her soft and loving nature was pivotal in mending and expanding the hearts of everyone she met.

Even in retirement, she volunteered her time to the hospital staff and accompanied her husband with volunteering for the police department. She dedicated her life in loving service of others.

She is dearly missed.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, with Memorial Service following at 11:00 AM, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.

Attire is encouraged to be casual and comfortable, with your finest Chiefs or Cardinals gear warmly welcomed.
