Derek Scott Burch, age 22, of Springfield, MO passed away at 10:55 a.m. January 1, 2017 in Irvine, California at Hoag Hospital after a battle with addiction.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Hiram Turner Burch Jr.; aunt Laura Ann Civey; uncle Dennis Ritch; great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Civey, Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Gilman, Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Burch, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Louie Brasier.

Derek is survived by mother Anita Burch of Clever, MO; father Bruce Burch; brother Ryan Burch, both of Springfield, MO; maternal grandmother Carolyn (Mrs. Calbert) Tiefenauer, Caledonia, MO; maternal grandfather Robert (Christine) Civey, Bonne Terre, MO; paternal grandmother Vivian Burch, Sikeston, MO; uncles, Jason Civey, Desloge, MO and Ronald (Lunell) Burch, Sikeston, MO; aunt Loretta Ritch, Dexter, MO; cousins Madeline and Andrew Civey, Desloge, MO, Ronald (Martha) Burch, Jr., Sikeston, MO and Eric Ritch, Dexter, MO.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, January 6, 2017 from 6 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
