Dennie W. Rose, 89, of Springfield, Mo., went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 29, 2010. He was born in Washburn, Mo., on October 23, 1921, to Lemmie and Ola (Pippin) Rose. Dennie is survived by his daughter and her husband, Rae-Jean and Allen Stephens; one grandson, Keith Stephens and his wife Annette; one grand-daughter, Jennifer Choi and her husband Ossi; three great-grandsons Darrin Stephens, Joseph and Jackson Choi; and two step-great-grandsons, Chris and Michael Brown, all of Springfield. He is also survived by three sisters; Ina Stephens, Olene (Ernest) Hendrix all of Washburn; Fern (Wendell) Hopkins of Cassville; two brothers; C.S. (Carrie) Rose and Denver (Dorris) Rose all of Cassville; and a host of extended family and friends. Dennie was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Dorothy Faye (Stewart) Rose, his parents, three brothers; Lionel, Jim and Max; and two sisters, Eva Mae and Mary. Visitation will be at 12:30 PM - 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 1:30 PM with The Reverend Jerry Yarnall officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Memorial donations may be made to St. John's Hospice or an organization of your choice.
