Our loving son and brother departed this life on 11/16/2011 at the age of 26. Denis was loved greatly by so many people. His big heart and kind spirit touched many lives during his short time with us. He was a lover of the outdoors and was happiest when he was in the woods and on the water, kayaking, spelunking, swimming, backpacking, biking and snowboarding, and spent many happy days on the river near his family's home. He was passionate about local organic farming and food supply sustainability. He had recently completed an internship at Millsap Farm where he loved to get his hands dirty, bring life from the soil, and grow food to nourish his community. There, and elsewhere, he is remembered as analytical, intelligent, diligent and a true friend. He preceded in death by his grandparents Ralph and Eileen Galloway, grandfather Charles W. Potts, uncle Denis W. Galloway, and is survived by his parents Keith and Nena Potts, sister Sara Potts, grandmothers Alice L. Potts and Melba Galloway, aunts and uncles Mike and Brenda Goodwin, Diane Galloway and Joe Blondheim, and cousins Jeff Goodwin, Jennifer Moore, and numerous other relatives and friends who will miss him tremendously. Memorial services will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday, November 26 at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Visitation will be at the chapel on the day of the memorial starting at 1pm.
