Obituary

Deloris Katherine Isenberger, 94, was born on June 21, 1927, to Henry William and Elsie Helen (Popkin) Stegemann in Nickerson, Nebraska.  On Sunday, July 16, 2021, she passed away surrounded by her children after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease.  Deloris was the youngest of three children and the only girl born to Henry and Elsie.  She spent her childhood assisting with the family farms in Nebraska and Iowa.  As a teenager, Deloris traveled to California with her family when her father gained employment in a factory in support of the World War II effort.  As a young adult, she worked as a telegraph operator for the railroad.

Deloris met her husband when she stopped to help a young man hitchhiking after his car had broken down.  Jack was on his way home from the Pleasant MO University where he was studying to become a veterinarian after returning from his service in the US Navy during World War II.  Deloris and Jack were married on September 23, 1948 and shared 62 wonderful years of marriage before Jack passed away on January 19, 2011  at the age of 89.

Deloris and Jack were blessed with four children.  Their first child was a beautiful little girl.  Linda Jean was born on June 6, 1950.  Two boys soon joined the family.  Jack was born October 16, 1953 and William 'Bill' was born July 17, 1955.  A second daughter, Nancy was born on March 31, 1957 and completed the family.  Deloris was also blessed with five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.  Family brought Deloris much joy and she treasured the time she was afforded with the generations.  She delighted in family dinners and visits as she became unable to leave the home.

The family settled in Iowa and spent many years farming and ranching.  In 1974, Deloris and Jack sold their properties and moved to Springfield, Missouri.  There the couple started a successful venture in real estate and founded Rocket Reality.  Deloris was an accomplished real estate agent in the Springfield and surrounding areas until her retirement in 1985.  Upon retirement, Deloris and Jack enjoyed spending their winters in the warmth of Englewood, Florida and were able to do so until Jack passed in 2011.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful aids who assisted Deloris so she could stay in the home she shared with her husband for 46 years, as well as the staffs at Cox South Seven East, Cox Health at Home Hospice, and Springfield Rehabilitation and Health Care for the compassionate end-of-life care Deloris received.

A memorial service will be held with family and close friends in Osceola, Iowa.  Deloris will be reunited with her beloved husband, Jack; daughter Linda who passed at age seventeen; son Jack who passed at age 62 after a battle with cancer; both Deloris' and Jack's parents; as well as many other family members.
