Della Hope Latimer, 94, of Springfield, MO, passed away April 15th, 2015. She was born December 20, 1920 in Cape Girardeau, MO to the late Harry and Mary (Drum) Jenkins. She grew up and attended school in Cape Girardeau and was also a graduate of the Gape Girardeau Business College. She and William H Latimer were married June 14, 1941 and had resided in Springfield, MO since 1946. She was an active member of King's Way United Methodist Church, Homebuilder's Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women. She was an early volunteer for Meals on Wheels, active for twelve years. She was also a member of several bridge clubs. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters and her husband. Mrs. Latimer is survived by one daughter, Sally Jones, and her husband, Greg Jones of Minneapolis, MN; two grandchildren, Mandy (Jones) Betker, and Nick Jones of Minneapolis, MN; and one sister, Betsy Summers of Spokane, WA. Services will be at Kingsway United Methodist Church with Priscilla Van Geeson officiating, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Gorman-Scharpf, April 20th, 2015, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, with services at Kingsway Methodist Church at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.
