Obituary

It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Delinda Boudinot Marling on June 23, 2026, just a week shy of her 91st birthday. Delinda slipped away gently in her sleep, concluding a courageous battle with dementia and Parkinson’s disease, surrounded by the love and memories she cherished deeply.

Born on June 30, 1935, in Newburg, Missouri, Delinda was the daughter of Frank and Ada Boudinot. Growing up, she was the youngest of her siblings, Bernadine Woolley, Ronald Affolter, Thomas Boudinot, and Nadine Hudgens, all of whom predeceased her. Her early years were marked by the close-knit bonds of her family and the values instilled by her devoted parents.

She was married to her beloved husband, Joe Marling, with whom she shared countless cherished memories until his passing. Together, they built a family grounded in love and resilience, raising three wonderful children: Sara Brodersen (Danny), Steve Marling (Julie), and Kevin Marling (Jackie). Her legacy extends through her grandchildren, Brooke Hicks (Calvin), Amanda Hook (Sean), Ryan Brown (Cecilia), Garet Marling (Jeff), Nolan Marling (Kayla), Jeremy Marling, Lucas Marling, Averie Marling, and Alice Marling and continues further to her great-grandchildren, Jack and Hannah Marling, who brought her immense joy and pride.

Delinda was an active member of Hamlin Baptist Church. Her unwavering faith guided her throughout her life and was the foundation of all she did. She had a deep passion for missions, which combined her love of travel with her desire to serve others. Among her most treasured experiences were mission trips to Africa and Haiti, where she faithfully served God’s people and shared his love.

In later years, Delinda faced the challenges of dementia and Parkinson’s with grace and dignity, finding comfort in the love of her family and the care of her dedicated healthcare team. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Ash Grove Healthcare Facility & Rehabilitation for their kindness and support during her final months.

Delinda’s passing leaves a void in the lives of her family and friends, yet her spirit endures in the memories shared, the lessons taught, and the love that will forever bind her family together. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and fortitude, reminding all who knew her of the beauty of a life devoted to compassion and connection.

A celebration of Delinda’s life will be held at Hamlin Baptist Church, where her family and friends will gather to honor her memory. Visitation at 10 am with service at 11am. There will be a graveside service at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Doolittle, MO at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hamlin Baptist Building Fund.

May she rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love of those who have gone before her, and may her memory be a blessing to all who were fortunate to know and love her.
