Delbert Henry McCormick was born January 1,1946 in Willow Springs, Missouri to Albert and Rayetta (Spencer) McCormick. Delbert graduated from Willow Springs High School in 1963 and joined the Navy in the Fall of 1963 serving the next eight years being discharged in 1971 with the rank of Radioman 1st Class.

Delbert was employed by the Missouri Highway Patrol in December of 1971, first serving in Troop C Kirkwood for seven years then transferring to Troop D Springfield in 1978 and serving there until his retirement in 2004 at the rank of Chief Radio Operator.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Barbara, his parents, three brothers, Charles McCormick, Leon McCormick and Jack McCormick, all of Willow Springs and three sisters, Janet King of Willow Springs, MO; Della Hollis of Willow Springs, MO; and Sue Brixey and husband Ronnie of Prineville, OR. Delbert is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside service with full military honors will be held Friday, January 16, 2026 at 11:00 AM in Missouri Veterans Cemetery under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
