Our beloved wife, mother and friend, Debra Lynn VanBenthusen, left us Sunday, March 30, 2014. She had courageously fought cancer for the last two years all the while caring for those she loved and cherishing life. She had a cheerful and loving spirit which she used in her work as a hospice volunteer and Fair Grove Farmer's Market Manager. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mertyle Soth and goes to help prepare a place for those she has left behind; husband, Steve VanBenthusen; daughter, Aundria Quick and her partner in life, Leif Nelson; grandsons, Cody and Nathan Nelson. She will be deeply missed, and we look forward to the day we will be together again. Services will be at the Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home at 1947 E. Seminole, Springfield, MO. Visitation is Thursday, April 3rd from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be Friday, April 4th at 3:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 701 N. 94th, Kansas City, Kansas at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, on Saturday, April 6th at 1:00 p.m.
