IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Debra "Debbie"
Ann Mcclain
September 16, 1958 – April 5, 2024
Debra (Debbie) Ann White McClain, age 65, of Springfield, MO passed away surrounded by family on April 5, 2024. Debra was born in Springfield, MO on September 16, 1958 to Robert (Bob) Wayne White and Bonita (Bonnie) Lou Riddle White McGuire. Debra was a graduate of Parkview High School class of 1976.
Debbie was described by those who knew her as a kind, generous soul whose humor lifted spirits and smile lit up the room. Her favorite pastimes included spending time with family, antiquing, attending concerts, catching up on her favorite television series, and watching sports of all kinds. In addition to her love for the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals, Debbie enjoyed attending the sporting events of her children and grandchildren. She had a knack for arts-and-crafts and took much pleasure in interior design and decorating for holidays, events, and birthdays.
Above all else, Debbie's greatest love was being a devoted mother to her sons, Travis and Michael; a loving grandmother to Kayden and Payton; and to Elizabeth (Liz) Whelan who gave Debbie the cherished experience of having a daughter.
Debbie is survived by her sons, Travis McClain (Elizabeth) of Springfield, MO and Michael McClain of St. Louis, MO; her two precious grandchildren, Kayden and Payton; her stepmother Sandra (Sandy) Kay McWilliams White; her aunt Elaine Nixon (Leonard) of Springfield, MO; as well as many of both of her son's friends who considered Debbie a bonus mother.
Debbie was preceded in death by her mother, Bonita McGuire and father, Robert (Bob) White who she will join in Heaven.
A memorial service will be held at one o'clock on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at The Venues, 2616 E. Battlefield Road, Springfield, MO 65804, with arrangements under the care of the Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
