Obituary

Debbie Kay Swyers,72, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 11, 2024. Born on August 23, 1951, in Cadet, Missouri. Debbie was the eldest of five children and cherished daughter of Andy and Alma Aubuchon.

Debbie spent many wonderful years in Festus, Missouri, where she raised her two children Jodi and Jamie. Later in life, she moved to Springfield, Missouri to be closer to her grandchildren, Alex and Andrew.

Debbie was known for her compassion and interest in others, her gift of making people feel at ease, her infectious laughter and her ability to make others laugh. Her greatest joy was spending time with her daughter, Jodi. Whether traveling, running errands, or simply enjoying each other's company, their bond was unbreakable. Her grandchildren Alex and Andrew were the light of her life. She was also a devoted "Nana" to her beloved grand-dogs.

Throughout her life Debbie was blessed with the steadfast friendship of Dody Dawes, Susan Holt and Laura Axtetter. Their unwavering support and companionship brought her much joy and comfort.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved son Jamie Swyers.

Her spirit is carried forward by her daughter, Jodi Hamilton, her son-in-law Ryan Hamilton and their children Alex and Andrew of Springfield, Missouri.

Debbie is also survived by her loving siblings: Sandy Aubuchon of Lambertville, NJ, Cathy (Gary) Skiles of Caledonia, MO, Peggy (Tony) Gray of Farmington, MO, Mike (Sheila) Aubuchon of Potosi, MO, and Phil Aubuchon of Cadet, MO.

Debbie will be remembered for her love of laughter, her kindness and the deep and unwavering love she had for her family and friends. She touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America www.lupus.org (https://www.lupus.org) or Rescue One rescueonespringfield.com(https://rescueonespringfield.com) Arrangements are under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel.
