Deanna Louise Gorden, age 84, passed away on September 7, 2022, in her home.  She was born the daughter of C. Wallace Clark and Helen C. Clark (Eek) in St. Louis, Missouri.

She attended Central High School graduating in 1956. She then went on to Burge Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1959.  She practiced as a RN until starting a family and then stayed home to raise three kids. She was a member of Schweitzer Church and worked there for almost 40 years.  She served in many different positions; financial assistant, director of adult ministries and coordinator of hospitality ministries.  She was devoted to making sure every class, event, trip, dinner, luncheon and Sunday morning was perfectly planned.  She loved her staff of volunteers who dedicated many hours of service helping her. She was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys. She spent much of her free time with her grandchildren who she loved dearly.  She rarely missed a school program, a baseball game or a dance recital.

Deanna was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Vernon Clark and husband, Jack Gorden.  She is survived by her son, Mike Gorden of Springfield, MO; daughters Brenda Gorden of Springfield, MO and Debbie (Jerry) Dunlop of Nixa, MO and grandchildren Brandon, Marcus, Andrew and Ally.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, September 12, 2022 with a service at 7 PM in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Schweitzer Church to benefit the hospitality ministry at 2747 E. Sunshine St., Springfield, MO 65804 or the Humane Society in honor of her beloved rescues and companions Max and Maggie at 3161 W. Norton Rd., Springfield, MO 65803.
