Dean G. Tarbutton, 95 of Springfield passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022.  He was born December 28, 1926 in rural Walla Walla, Washington to Thomas Terah and Elizabeth (Ingalls) Tarbutton.

He served in the Army from May 1945 to November 1946 and was with the forces that liberated Berlin during WW II. He married Winona M. (Goss) Tarbutton on June 8, 1947. They enjoyed traveling all over the country in their camper before her passing on January 15, 2021. Dean retired in 1986 as General Foreman for the Gas Department at City Utilities after a 30 year career. Dean also volunteered with the VFW that performed military honors for veterans.

He is survived by his son, Gerald Tarbutton and wife, Becky; daughter, Winnoline Baldwin and husband, Lee; five grandchildren, Bryan Tarbutton (Lori), Christina Coleman (Andrew), Sarah Davis, Daniel Romine, and Natalie Gathright; and five great-grandchildren, Alex, Zachary, Joshua, Alanna and Katie Mae.

Private family graveside services with full military honors will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery under the care of Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home.
