David Lee Veach, 61 of Republic, MO fought a courageous battle with cancer up to the very end of this life, and went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 8, 2014. He was surrounded by the people who loved him the most. David was born June 25, 1952 to Leroy and Wilma (Schoch) Veach of Bowen, IL. David had a strong faith in god and his family was the focus of his life. David will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends he loved with all his heart. He was a skilled athlete who excelled at baseball and basketball and will always be remembered as a star pitcher and a great hitter by all who played the game with him. David loved the Beatles, the Atlanta Braves and NCAA basketball. David is survived by his wife Susan (Kirbach) Veach, his children Joel (Jenni) Veach of Gilbert, AZ, and Jenna (Joey) Eslick of Republic, his grandchildren Ava & Archer Eslick and Ezra Veach and a fourth grandchild due in May. David is also survived by his father, Leroy Veach of Quincy, IL, siblings Danny (Holly) Veach of Golden, IL, Cyndi (Tom) Bigham of Rushville, IL, Susan Veach and companion Sara Ensminger of Stillwell, IL and nieces and nephews Carly and Willie Bigham, Aubrey Hageman and Wes Hudson. David was preceded in death by his mother Wilma and nephew Richard Barber III. Cremation rights have been accorded and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Quincy, IL for family and friends.
