David Allan Stone, age 53 of Springfield passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017.  He was born August 18, 1963 to his parents Allan and Peggy Stone in El Paso, TX.  The family moved to Springfield when David was in the fourth grade.  He graduated from Parkview High School and received a Bachelor's degree in Theatre at Missouri State University.

David loved acting from an early age, and enjoyed participating in area theatrical productions over the years.  He was a fun-loving and kind spirit, who could make anyone laugh with his unique sense of humor, pranks and impersonations.  Halloween was a favorite holiday, and he was a master with his costume creations and decorating skills.  David held a special place in his heart for movies on the big-screen.  There was never too much butter on the popcorn or ever a bad movie for him.  He held long-term positions at Starbucks and Cox Health.

David was proceeded in death by his grandparents, William and Mildred Carter and William and Leona Stone of Lockport, IL.  He is survived by his parents Allan and Peggy Stone; brother and sister-in-law Richard and Wendy Stone; nephews Nick and Drew Stone, all of Springfield.  He is also survived by a host of friends and family, with special mention to the families of Karl Satterfield, Janice Kelm and William Carter.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 20 from 7:00 – 8:30 PM at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, with the memorial service Friday, July 21 at 1:00 PM.

David was truly loved and his laughter will be greatly missed.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to Springfield Little Theatre, 311 E. Walnut Street, Springfield, MO  65806.
