David Evans Pryor of Calhoun City, MS. died Monday, April 18, 2011 at the Neighborhoods at Quail Creek in Springfield, MO. He was born in Houston, MS. August 3, 1932 to Evans Eugene Pryor and Virginia Griffin Pryor of Calhoun City, MS. He was a graduate of Calhoun City High School and Millsaps College where he earned a degree in Chemistry. For several years after college Mr. Pryor worked for the quality control division of the Coca-Cola Company. In 1958 he joined his father in operating Pryor Implement Company. After his father's death he continued to build the business until suffering a stroke in 1998. Mr. Pryor was a lifelong member of Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church in Calhoun City where he served on the administrative board and sang in the choir. He was a former director of Union Planters Bank and an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. For the last thirteen years he made his home near his daughter in Springfield, MO. He is survived by a son, David Evans Pryor, Jr. of Dallas, TX., a daughter, Camille Pryor Sistrunk and her husband William W. Sistrunk, and three grandchildren, Ann Weston Sistrunk, Katherine Coleman Sistrunk and William Evans Sistrunk. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced at a later date.
