David Cruz Pangelinan

"Papa"

October 19, 1941 - June 15, 2017

David Pangelinan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the age of 75.

He now joins his parents, Manuel Perez Pangelinan (Ella) and Maria Cruz Pangelinan (Jeje); brothers, Pedro Cruz Pangelinan, Jose Cruz Pangelinan, Vicente Cruz Pangelinan, Manuel Cruz Pangelinan and Francisco Cruz Pangelinan; and sisters, Maria Pangelinan Benito and Celestina Pangelinan Calvo.

He is survived by his sister, Edith Blas and brother-in-law Danny; brother, Danny Pangelinan and sister-in-law Rosa.

David "Papa" is also survived by his loving wife, Grace and her children, Barbara Fiedler (Michael), Dolores Alderman, Johnny Alderman, Patrick Alderman (Kristen) and Michael Santos along with all the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Upon entering their lives, he became their father, guide and nurturer.

He is also survived by ex-wife, Mercedes Aguon Pangelinan and their daughter Trish Cosand (Rich) and their two children.

David also raised Mercedes' children, David Aguero (Julie), Jesse Aguero (Suzanna), Liz Aguero and Jeanie Palmer (Eugene) along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He raised and nurtured them as his own.

He is also survived by a son, Marvin Scharf and his children.

Last, but not least, his four legged, loyal companion, Napu, who until they meet again, will miss his midnight snack with Papa.

He will always be in the hearts and memories of all who were fortunate enough to have met him in this life.

Celebration of Life will be Monday, June 26, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. at Nixa Christian Church, 400 Northview Road, Nixa, MO 65714.  Burial with full military honors will follow at 10:00 a.m. in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 3 to 5:00 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole, Springfield, MO 65804.
