David Lee Kiefer born in Los Angeles, California on January 12, 1945, passed away January 26, 2019 in Springfield, Missouri.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy on the USS Bon Homme Richard during the Vietnam War from 1962-1966.
He enjoyed hunting in Montana, fishing in Canada, RVing, owning antique automobiles, motorcycles and boating. He enjoyed traveling to different places in the United States and other countries. He took his Navy skills to Table Rock Lake owning several houseboats. He invited family and friends to the lake taking them for boat rides and serving some of his barbeque, pulled pork and ribs. He enjoyed life to the fullest. Later after retirement, he spent his winters in McAllen, Texas with special friends.
David owned Goff Heating & Air for 43 years. Even after retirement he would gather his tools and help out a friend that needed help on a furnace or air conditioner. He always tried to take care of his customers.
David leaves his wife, Cheryl Lee Kiefer; his brothers, Michael Dennis Kiefer and wife Dianne, Steve Tracy Kiefer and wife Judy; his son, Steven Michael Kiefer and wife Amy; his daughter Tina Marie Kiefer Dean and husband Gerald; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and his four-legged companion, Oreo.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Ellen Phillips; his son Ricky Lee Kiefer, who left us too early in life; special Aunt Ida Nothnagel; sisters, Bonnie Emde and Connie Luttman.
David was a Shriner and a member of the Elks Lodge. A special thanks to friends, Mike and Susan Hall for bringing David and Cheryl back from McAllen, Texas.
A celebration of life will be held at the Elks Lodge 409, 2223 E. Bennett Street, Springfield, Missouri from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rescue One at 1927-B E. Bennett Street, Springfield, MO 65804.
